Dover has had its fair share of 'Wild Weather' being located on the English Channel the busiest shipping lanes in the
world this can be hazardous to the local ferries leaving and returning to the port. From the 1987 hurricane in October of
that year to Hurricane Lilly in 1996 Dover has been hit hard several times by the force of nature. There has also been more
calming times when the weather has reached scorching conditions as recently 2006 has seen the warmest September since records
began in the South East of England. Dover has been hit by stormy conditions including flash floods in July 2004 and icy conditions
in the 1950's when the sea froze over north of Herne Bay. On other pages on the Dover Soul site we have pictures of snow,
